4 days in a row! im back!! cmon, admit it, im hardworking am i not? wahahaha.. well, i jus wanna say, i have a new part time job!! a tuition teacher!! i now m part of the 'free tuition' group in 'trinity methodist centre', a church nearby my house.. gosh, im so excited!! i cant wait to meet my students!! hahaha.. i love teaching u know.. i had a tuition class when i finished form4, i teached english to my sis n 2 of her friends.. they were from chinese families, n werent really good in english, so, im SLIGHTLY better, haha ok, i know my eng is not that good as well but i guess its enough to teach small children.. i really enjoyed those times.. i had to end my class when i started form5, cos my timetable was really packed during form5, n im so glad to hear that my students, my sis's frens, were still asking if i still teach tuition now.. haha, so HAPPY to know that my students enjoy my class.. cos kids dont really like studying right? haha.. well, now that im back as a tuition teacher, im teaching english & maths to UPSR & PMR students in a rotating manner every saturday night.. in a rotating manner means i teach 2 weeks, then other teachers take over for 2 weeks then its back to my turn.. my turn is only bout 2 weeks later.. gosh i cant wait!! hahaha.. this time my class has 15 students.. whoooo... a bit anxious.. haha, im mad @@ well, this reminds me of today's church message.. that is 'serving others' as Jesus served us.. it really touches my heart when i think of Jesus, a King! washed His followers' feet.. washing other ppl's feet is wat the lowest class of servants, or rather slaves, do to their masters.. n yet, the God I worship & adore, is the God who washes my feet.. Humility & service.. easy to say, n hard to practice.. what can I do to serve others? now I've got one, my free tuition class.. i do wish i can contribute something to the church & the ministry.. u know, today is the FIRST time in my life that im the usher for the church service!! i actually stood at the door before the service started & distributed the buletin to every church goer.. gosh, i LOVE this job!! smiling & saying good morning to everyone, gosh the feeling is FANTASTIC!! i received many stares which i interpreted as who's this gal? haha, cos i think half of the church dont know me.. haha, im such a quiet girl in church m i not? hoho.. i know my frens, u will never believe that priscilla is actually QUIET!! dont u think making others happy is actually a GREAT feeling? i LOVE making others happy.. especially my frens.. but im not sure if i succeeded in doing that, but at least i tried? i recieved an email the other day, that really made me think.. i will post it here, this short little story, hope u like it=)
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room.
One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window.
The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside.
The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed.It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you."isnt this story sweet n touching? hope u enjoyed it, n lets work hard to make this world a better world by being a selfless person shall we?
